Nicolas Gerber ARTIST RECUPERATOR 1969, French - Switzerland residing in Marseilles 14th, France

Musician, type-setter, phonometrograph, recuperator, draughtsman, graphic designer, poet, robber, of films, the performances, Internet, etc... but what counts is the research and the recovery of art, the economy and other things...

The sound in the space of play, the camera like object of Ritual, the microphone, action of the document and the pen are the sensors and paramount tools in my work of manufacture, come then all possible and unimaginable technologies within the limits from my possibilities and my knowledge (approach more intuitive than technological).

To play in a vulgar way with the meter like a unit of decline, the rot of food and the conservation of strange objects, to imagine Switzerland like amnesic patriarch or place of mythology, the games of chance, to seek languages or writings misfits and moved compared to oneself-saying "normality", of the distorsions body and musical due to the spasms of the improvisation what could result in a balance between the stimulated and mechanical body: detached and undisciplined.

To work starting from recoveries such as useful or useless objects, sound papers, documents on magnetic or different tape, of the files film, the electronic instruments in good or bad operating condition, especially not to repair but assimilate to poetic "chance" of the meeting with the object, to make the experiment of impromptu in its disproportion.

To manufacture spaces with variable directions where one speaks about the languages which are contradicted permanently. To revisit approximate and phantasmagoric metrology by making of alternate apparatuses of writings. To invent discussed characters (handicapped people or conditioned in the word and the gesture) moving with their manner in sound and visual spaces conceived for them but also of the type-setters, the musicians, the poets or the orchestras. Where the artist and work do not exist any more as a Master or a standard but confuse continuously in a reduction and a constellation of voice.
